No worries Bob. A sealed can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment will last several decades. An open can that is capped tight will last a few years. Even so, does best when used in fuel and oil systems. Use it up!

Does Sea Foam go bad in an un heated garage over the winter?
No, Sea Foam is not affected by extreme cold (think -40 degrees F), so it’s fine in an unheated garage.

I use Sea Foam in my cycles, but haven’t ridden for 11 years though I at least started them every year. Except, my main cycle wouldn’t start last year. Now, am I going to have to have the carbs cleaned? Or could I empty the tank and carbs, and put in a whole can of Sea Foam with fresh gas to fix this? I’ve been told stories from mechanics and others about gas going bad and Sea Foam jelling, but were their stories BS?
Thanks for using Sea Foam, Leo! Sea Foam Motor Treatment and Sea Foam High Mileage are made from 100% highly refined petroleum products. In our offices in Chaska, MN we have cans of Sea Foam that were produced in late 1991. Those cans of product are still useable today, 30+ years later. We have never experienced any jelling with our products.
Here’s what I would recommend: drain the fuel tank and clean out as much old fuel residue as possible. Add a 50/50 mixture of Sea Foam and fresh gasoline. Attempt to start the cycle (get fuel mixture in the carb(s)). If it does not start, let the cycle sit for 5-6 hours to allow Sea Foam to dissolve any fuel residues from the carb jets and passageways. This may take 3-4 attempts to get all the passageways clean. Once the cycle is running, consume the 50/50 mixture before adding fresh gasoline. Once the cycle starts, it may run rough – allow Sea Foam time to continue to clean. Sea Foam works better hot than it does cold.
Going forward, keep up the habit of using 1 ounce of Sea Foam Motor Treatment or High Mileage whenever you know the cycle will not be in use for more than 30 days, or if the fuel purchased will not be consumed in 30 days.
